first off, there are several African men who hang around outside hassling you to buy drugs, why aren't they moved on? there are many security guards in the area. the mini market at the door charges almost 6GBP for a bottle of coke. I was on the fourth floor where both toilet cubicles were locked the whole five days and by my second day someone had even broken the door handle off. there are two toilet cubicles per floor - 8 beds per room and 6 rooms per floor, seems pretty inadequate. I told the receptionist they were still broken, he said they're on it and when I said it's been three days he said the technician isn't coming. he wasn't the only unhelpful person working there, nobody seemed interested in helping. having to go downstairs for a midnight pee is a nuisance. the rooms smell very stale and it's not helped by being unable to open the window. Aircon only comes on at 11pm and as I write this it's 22 Deg at 2230, not even the reception staff can turn their own on. the decor is quite dated, there is much repairs needed and the bathroom wasn't cleaned until the day before I left. the hostel is a good location and the bunks have curtains but overall this is one of the worst hostels I have ever stayed and I couldn't wait to leave, avoid!!
There is only one toilet on the whole floor (for all genders) and said toilet is really small. I'm not sure yet if you can lock the shower room because I can't see a key and that makes me uncomfortable. The room I'm in is really loud because there's some sort of party outside. The charging doesn't really work either. But I really like the lockers (they have codes) because they have a lot of space and the location is also really good. Not sure what to think about this hostel.
Location is great. And the beds, pillows are really comfortable. The bed is not narrow, it's wide. But it is more like a dormitory rather than a hostel. No fun activity, no food, nothing.
I really enjoyed my stay! I stayed in the first floor and the only thing was the pub next to it had a lot of noise but that’s what you get in the cite centre hahah I stayed at the hostel 3 nights and it was my first experience in a hostel and it truly couldn’t have been better. There were lockers that where very spacious with good locks, beds that majority had curtains (mine did) as well as a big common room, kitchens and very nice large showers.
