Strahov Monastery Brewery
Prague

My wife and I were planning to go to the petrin tower from Prague castle by tram at around noon and we got hungry. We looked for nearby restaurants near the tram station and decided on eating here. We had goulash and chicken schnitzel. We have to say the schnitzel was one of the best we had during our Europe trip, it was well seasoned and freshly fried. The potato salad was also very delicious and matches well with it. 100% must try. Price was reasonable as well. Would also recommend the beers which I understand some of which are brewed locally.
Good place to take a lunch when visiting Prague Castel and Strahov Monastery Library. Both are highly reccommended to visit. Might be crowded on lunch time but worth to wait. There are also brewery tours. Food and beer are both very tasty. I took onion soup and it taste like in best places in Paris.
Fantastic monastery brewery. We ate looking much in the restaurant/taproom and had several delicious beers as well. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They spoke amazing English as well. The beers and lunch were excellent. Would definitely come here again. 🙂👍🏻🍻
One of the best breweries I have visited so far! I visited Strahov Monastic Brewery in Prague, and the beer was absolutely amazing — truly one of the tastiest beers I have ever had. The food (ribs, goulash) was also delicious and matched perfectly with the beer. What impressed me most was that the beer was even cheaper than water. For a couple, around 40 euros is more than enough, making it a very affordable and excellent place to visit. You can also see the menu dated 1 April 2026. Highly recommended!
Simply WOW. Was here and stayed next door or within the gated village. This brewery is quite impressive (pov that is). Wasn’t thinking about trying all their beers and foods in one seating but decided, why the heck not, after all Prague’s beers are just simply tasty and well brewed. The day before leaving, I decided to do it since it’s just 2 doors down from where I stayed and there are 2 churches infront in case I need confession after drinking and before getting back to the hotel. Plus the people are wonderful and friendly here. So yes I went in, not much going on so I told the waiter about it and he suggested to do from dark to light and of course I had to paired with foods since I don’t want to be completely drunk afterward. I’m not much of a beer person, I drink it, and for me, just like water…not much thought into it. But these are just one of tastiness, flavorful individual, and well crafted. I’m not a fan of dark beer but I really enjoyed it more then I though I would be. The foods are almost equally impressive and some do have beer incorporated into it (why not right, free ingredients). Services are extremely generous, friendly, knowledgeable of the stuffs and funny too. Overall, I wish I could do this every 3-4months since not only cause go excellent service, drinks, foods, great vibe but also so affordable too. If you’re here in Prague, come check it out even for a pint or two. They’re surrounded with churches, park, hotel or castle, and within walking distance to the Prague’s casket. Just love it here.
