Onefam old town was a truly awesome experience. The staff was so welcoming and kind and truly made the hostel feel like a real family environment. The beds were really nice with shades in the bunks and fans in the room. It was like 85 degrees in Prague one of the days we were there and it did get really hot but other than that the rooms were great with clean bathrooms and showers. The living room area was really nice as well with a lot of nice couches and a tv to watch the World Cup. Overall a truly wonderful stay and I could not recommend this place enough if you’re looking to be social and experience Prague in a fun way. Also prices are great and beers in the hostel were like 2 euro.
Whilst overall, I had an enjoyable stay at Onefam Old Town, visitors should be aware of a few things: 1. Bathrooms - all men in the hostel share a single toilet, with two additional urinals (one was out of order during my stay). There are lots of showers, but require you to continually push a button to keep the water running. 2. Temperature in bedrooms - during my stay, the outside temperature was around 30 degrees Celsius (85 Fahrenheit). There are no fans/air conditioning in the rooms, which caused the rooms to be incredibly hot overnight. Additionally, the windows in the rooms do not open significantly to properly help with cooling down. 3. Social hostel - this was an excellent feature of the hostel for me. The hostel runs both day and night activities every day, including pub crawls for an extra fee (€30-40 or CZK 730-970). I found these excellent, and the hostel remained sufficiently quiet after 10pm for those who did not wish to participate. 4. Staff - the staff at the hostel are excellent. Staff are primarily volunteers (who are given free accommodation) so are mostly the same age as the hostel’s primary demographic. Staff receive a small payment from management if they are named by a guest in a 5 star review. 5. Other common amenities - the hostel has some couches, a TV with various streaming services and a kitchen area with a table. Whilst the kitchen could be described as fully equipped, it is not big enough for more than one person to realistically cook at once. 6. General condition of the hostel - whilst nothing major was broken, the general feel of the hostel is very old and gives the impression that management has not invested in the hostel in the last 20ish years. As such, do not book this hostel expecting a modern, fresh space.
this hostel is amazing and so fun. especially the staff makes you feel so welcome and are so fun to be around. the activities they provide are great as well! would always come back but only if the same staff is here (jokes)
The OneFam fam was amazing and would definitely recommend staying here! The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and all of the staff were so lovely throughout my stay. A special thank you to Destiny, who always made sure we were having fun and went above and beyond to make everyone feel included. The dinners she made were absolutely amazing and really added to the whole experience. Also, a big shoutout to Will, who was always a laugh and showed us a great night out. Such a memorable stay! Can’t wait to come back again!
I cannot fault my experience here. This hostel truly felt like home, and the staff treat you like family. I cannot thank Will and Eadaoin enough for their hospitality. Two very caring individuals who went above and beyond to make my experience 10/10. I would absolutely stay here again. The location is central, the beds are comfortable, and living area is clean. I wish i could’ve extended my stay :( Thankyou for everything onefam!
