Explore the history of Prague’s New Town and Old Town and enjoy the best modern art in the city. Begin at the National Museum and learn about its history and the student resistance. Then, move to the statue of the good king Wenceslas and hear about the history of the New Town. Next, step into unknown Prague, skipping Old Town Square where 90% of the tours are. Stop at an Art Nouveau palace to see the upside-down horse statue, then visit the hidden Franciscan garden. After seeing the garden, enter a beautiful medieval church. Continue to the site of the oldest Jewish cemetery in Prague, then see the rotating head of Franz Kafka and the house where Mozart lived, along with the opera house where he premiered the famous “Don Giovanni.” Learn about the Czech priest who started the reformation of the Catholic church, then walk through the beautiful Old Town alleys and passages until you stop by a Renaissance house where the famous astronomer Johannes Kepler lived and worked.
