You will discover the totally innovative urbanism of a district designed in the 14th century and developed around 3 centralities: the cattle market (Charles Square), the horses market (Wenceslas Square) and the hay market (Senovazne Square). You can enjoy some of the masterpieces of Gothic, Baroque, Art Nouveau or Cubist architecture with the Powder Tower, the Estates Theater, the Municipal House or the House of the Black Madonna. The district is also the location of the National Museum and the National Theatre, two of the most important buildings of the Czech National Renaissance, cultural movement and identity precursor of the Czechoslovak independence of 1918.
