Description
David Černý is a Czech conceptual artist and sculptor and is one of the major artists of the European contemporary scene. He became famous at the time of the Velvet Revolution when he was only a student at the School of Applied Arts in Prague with an act denouncing the institutionalization of communism in the Czechoslovak government apparatus of the time. Since then, he has placed his work within the framework of critical discourse aimed at denouncing the state of contemporary Czech and European culture. His work has long crossed the Czech borders and he is exhibited all over the world.
During this tour you will be able to discover 10 urban works by David Černý located in the historic districts of Prague. Some of these works are very well known, others much more confidential. Each of these works will be presented and explained to you. During this tour you will also have information about the historic districts of Mala Strana, Staré Mesto and Nové Mesto.
