Description
From the main entrance of the National Museum we will see Wenceslas Square, the site of the old parliament, and what were important stores at the time. We will then go on to see typical buildings of Czech socialist architecture. We will continue along the street where the current CCP (political group) headquarters is located. Later we will see old headquarters of emblematic state companies at that time. During the course of the tour you will hear about how these companies operated and how the daily routine was viewed by the local population. Then we will show you places related to the Velvet Revolution and the first years after the changes.
As a final point we will visit the nuclear bunker located in Wenceslas Square. This defensive construction is located underground under the Jalta Hotel. The space where the thick walls of the bunker are located is set up as a Cold War Museum. In it we will hear about the Warsaw Pact, learn about defense systems and missile range, as well as uniforms and weapons used at that time.
