The meeting point is right at the 'Pražský hrad' (Prague Castle) stop (tram line no. 22 or 23, direction 'Bílá hora'). Your guide, Mr. Robert Procházka, will be waiting for you at the 'Pražský hrad' (Prague Castle) stop. During a three-hour tour in German, you'll visit St.Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, theGeorge's Basilica and the Golden Lane. The tour ends in the Golden Lane. The grounds of the breathtaking Prague Castle, from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the whole city, are even listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest enclosed castle grounds in the whole world. St. Vitus Cathedral is the burial and coronation site of Bohemian kings. The oldest predecessor building, a Romanesque rotunda, was founded around 925. The cathedral houses the most important patron saints of the country, such as St. Wenceslas or St. Adalbert. The cathedral is the masterpiece of Gothic architecture of the 14th From the Wenceslas Chapel, decorated with semi-precious stones, where the bones of St. Wenceslas rest in a Gothic shrine, a spiral staircase leads to the Crown Chamber, where the coronation insignia are kept. In the Royal Palace, you can see the replica of the Bohemian crown jewels, visit the largest late Gothic throne room in Central Europe, and the site of the Third Defenestration of Prague (State Chancellery), which initiated the Thirty Years' War. The 10th-century St. George's Basilica century houses, among other things, the tomb of St. Ludmila, grandma of St. Wenceslas, who was strangled by Viking warriors on behalf of her daughter-in-law. In the picturesque Golden Lane, you'll be transported back to the 16th Emperor Rudolf II's alchemists were there looking for an elixir of life and tried to make gold from lead. The famous Prague writer Franz Kafka also lived in one of the little houses.
