The meeting point is right at the 'Pražský hrad' (Prague Castle) stop (tram line 22 or 23, direction 'Bílá hora'). Your guide, Mr. Robert Procházka, will be waiting for you at the 'Pražský hrad' (Prague Castle) stop. During a three-hour guided tour in German, you'll visit the St.St. Vitus Cathedral, the old Royal Palace, the Basilica of St.George's Basilica and the Golden Lane. The tour wraps up in the Golden Lane. The grounds of the breathtaking Prague Castle, from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the whole city, are even listed in the Guinness Book as the largest enclosed castle grounds in the world. St. Vitus Cathedral is where Bohemian kings were buried and crowned. The oldest predecessor building, a Romanesque rotunda, was founded around 925. The cathedral is home to the most important patron saints, like St. Wenceslas or St. Adalbert are buried here. The cathedral is a masterpiece of 14th-century Gothic architecture. From the Wenceslas Chapel, decorated with semi-precious stones, where the bones of St. Wenceslas rests in a Gothic shrine, and a spiral staircase leads to the Crown Chamber, where the coronation insignia are kept. In the Royal Palace, you can check out the replica of the Bohemian crown jewels, visit the largest late Gothic throne room in Central Europe, and see the site of the Third Prague Defenestration (State Chancellery), which kicked off the Thirty Years' War. The St. George's Basilica from the 10th century century houses the tomb of St. Ludmila, grandma of St. Wenceslas, who was strangled by Viking warriors on behalf of her daughter-in-law. In the picturesque Golden Lane, you'll feel like you're back in the 16th century. Back in the day, Emperor Rudolf II's alchemists were on the hunt for an elixir of life and were trying to turn lead into gold. The famous Prague writer Franz Kafka also lived in one of the cottages.Includes
