My husband and I recently stayed at this lovely small boutique hotel and we absolutely loved it. It’s super cozy and honestly feels like a real home away from home. The location is absolutely perfect. It’s literally a ten-minute walk from the Karlův most (Charles Bridge) and right below the Pražský hrad (Prague Castle). But the best part? It’s tucked away in a quiet, peaceful spot, so you don’t get any of that crazy tourist noise. Getting around the city is also very easy from here. The rooms were clean, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. By the way, we also have to mention the hotel’s famous restaurant - it’s already super popular and everyone knows about it, but the food there is truly amazing. But honestly, what makes this place special is the people. There is a saying that "the king is only as good as his entourage", and that's exactly about this hotel's team. I absolutely must mention the wonderful breakfast hosts, Andrea and Olga. Thanks to them, having breakfast here turns into a cozy, heartwarming ritual and the most perfect start to the day. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel like cherished guests. Special thanks also go to David and Vasily at the front desk. They are top professionals who can organize absolutely anything and are always ready to help. You can completely rely on their recommendations for local restaurants, route planning, and insider city tips. We had an amazing stay and will definitely be back next time we are in Prague!

Spectacular, Romantic Boutique Hotel! My wife and I were in Prague for four nights celebrating our wedding anniversary. We are SO happy that we chose to stay at the Golden Well Hotel. It is situated in a charming old building that was built in the 16th century but has been fully renovated with fully up-to-date and modern amenities. The building itself is beautiful and one reaches it by a charming cobblestone walkway. Incidentally, the building was the home of the famous astronomer, Tyco Brahe, an added bonus for any science nerds that might be in Prague! Our reception was delightful, and we found everyone to be extremely helpful. We would like to make special mention of Oleg and Vasyl at the front desk who were very kind and unfailingly helpful. Our room was lovely and well appointed. It had a spectacular view of the Old Town in the distance as well as a view of the beautiful Saint Nicholas Church, which is just about a three minute walk from the hotel. We were delighted by the turn-down service in which a delicious small dessert was left for us each evening! The breakfast was delicious and was served on the top floor terrace which also has a spectacular view. Breakfast was abundant with fruits, breads, cheeses, cereals; as well as made to order, omelettes, pancakes, waffles, etc. We want to make a special mention of Andrea, the waitress/hostess in the breakfast terrace upstairs - she was extremely friendly and helpful. Every day from about 4 PM to 6 PM they set out a selection of treats, including cookies, nuts, cake; as well as mulled, wine, coffee, and tea. This is all served in a charming little side room that is very inviting. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is situated in a quiet part of the city, but is still within walking distance to major attractions and the hustle and bustle. The hotel is nestled under the castle district, thus it is a relatively short (but steep!) walk to the castle complex, the cathedral, etc. It is about a 15 minute walk to the head of the Charles bridge where there are many shops, cafés, etc. The Lennon wall is also down near the head of the Charles Bridge, about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the hotel. The surrounding streets are very picturesque and also seemed very safe. To get to Old Town, which is much more bustling, it’s about a 20 or 30 minute walk. Alternatively, if you don’t wish to walk, it is easy to take the tram which stops just a few minutes from the hotel and is straightforward to navigate. Also, we should mention that if you are over 65 (perhaps over 60?) all of the public transportation in Prague, such as trains and the metro are free! So you don’t have to deal with the added confusion of purchasing tickets, etc. Everyone at the Golden Well Hotel seemed intent on making our experience as nice as possible. They certainly succeeded. We recommend The Golden Well Hotel with the highest possible enthusiasm! If and when we return to Prague we would absolutely love to stay here again!

Fabulous location away from the noise and crowds, very historic and great views from the hotel restaurant. In the summer, the private entrance to the castle gardens must be a highlight! Just a couple of weird points.. The most intense check-in I’ve had into a hotel, with alternating greeting staff and offering a 5-minute beer, offering a wet towel yet straight away asking for passports which I imagine no one wants to get their passports wet. I was a bit let down as a local I could only check-in in English as there was no local staff. Asked for eating and café tips and only got sent to the biggest tourist traps, so some insider knowledge would be nice to upskill the staff with. The bathroom products in the hotel are not local, an oversight for such as upmarket hotel right under the castle. No shower gel, only shampoo, the body lotion is way too thin for skin in winter months. We couldn’t work out how to switch off the bedside table radio, or the bathroom light, so if providing gadgets, perhaps some instruction manuals would have helped. The hotel offers free coffee, however only capsules. The staff left a cake on my bedside table whilst we were out, however with the late arrival into the room I kept knocking into the spoon+plate in the middle of the night. At breakfast, they kept offering soup (??), wine and sparkling wine (?), and juice several times, I felt a little like they were focused on the upsell. Overall, they’ve got the location and the premises, just let down on the final touches/sophistication of staff.

Top-notch, no-compromises, luxury hotel with unmatched views of Prague right outside your window. Intimate, quiet and just wonderful all-around. Terrific service with attention to every detail. You feel special here and you want to stay longer and come back again like we did.
