Description

On this guided tour, participants will explore Prague through the most iconic and provocative works of David Černý, an artist renowned for his direct, ironic, and multilayered language. The route winds through the city's streets and squares, where his sculptures both blend into and disrupt the urban landscape, offering a critical and biting perspective on contemporary society. Accompanied by a guide who has thoroughly studied the artist’s work, visitors will receive an introduction and unique insights. Each stop on the tour will provide an opportunity to reflect on the layered and hidden messages in Černý’s works, in an open dialogue where everyone’s opinion is respected. Featuring suspended figures with deformed bodies, kinetic artworks, and political provocations, the tour offers an immersive and thought-provoking experience designed for those who want to discover Prague from an unusual and insightful perspective. An urban and mental journey in which, through Černý’s artistic work, the anatomy of the gaze becomes a tool for reflection. The tour is available in two distinct options: Outdoor route: An urban itinerary taking in Černý’s public installations, scattered across Prague’s most emblematic locations. These sculptures, often provocative and surreal, engage with the city’s architecture and history, prompting reflections and ideas through an open dialogue. Visit to the Musoleum: An immersion in the artist’s creative universe within his private exhibition space. Here, visitors can find previously unseen works, drawings, miniatures, portraits, famous and lesser-known sculptures, early works, kinetic sculptures, and design projects not on display anywhere else. The Musoleum offers a more intimate and comprehensive view of Černý’s artistic journey, allowing visitors to grasp the evolution of his thinking and his techniques. Both experiences are designed to provide direct contact with David Černý’s art, in a setting that encourages reflection and discussion. Whether you choose the city tour or the visit to the Musoleum, the tour offers a unique opportunity to delve into the work of one of the most controversial and influential artists on the contemporary Czech scene.
