Description
Karlstejn Castle, built in 1348 by King Charles IV to secure royal treasures including holy relics and coronation jewels, stands on a panoramic hilltop near Prague.
Your private driver and guide will pick you up from your Prague accommodation in a car for up to 3 passengers or a van for groups up to 7 (van option costs an additional 40 EUR). After a climb of about 1 km, or by optional taxi or horse-drawn carriage, your tour begins inside the castle, exploring the Imperial Palace and the Marian Tower's lower floors, which display artefacts dating from the 14th to 19th centuries.
Following the castle visit, enjoy a traditional Czech lunch in the nearby village. Then continue to the Crystal Manufactory, renowned for producing high-quality 24% leaded cut crystal. The factory creates products ranging from simple to ornate designs, often featuring gilt, hand painting, and sandblasting. The glassworks provide official state gifts and offer a detailed tour of their glass-making techniques.
