Reviews
We had the pleasure of staying here for a week. We chose one of the hotel apartments with a kitchen, and it was absolutely fantastic. The room was spacious, modern, and very comfortable, with the best hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. It was also convenient that the hotel offered a selection of snacks, drinks, and other essentials for purchase. The only downside was the acoustics in the breakfast area. It was quite noisy, which made the atmosphere a little less cozy than it could have been. The breakfast itself was very good, with a nice selection and a few different options each day. The staff did an excellent job of keeping everything well stocked and the dining area clean and tidy. Overall, I can highly recommend this hotel. The excellent room, outstanding staff, good breakfast, and great location made it a wonderful place to stay.
Mamaison Downtown Prague is a pleasant hotel with several positives, but also a few service gaps that affected our stay. Good location. The reception staff were genuinely friendly, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt welcoming. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well laid out, which made a great first impression. However, we were disappointed to learn that room service is only provided for stays longer than four days. Towels are changed on request, but in our case the rubbish wasn’t removed, the room wasn’t swept, and even the beds weren’t made. While I understand not changing linens daily being a eco friendly hotel, returning from a long day out to find the beds untouched and rubbish still in the room was frustrating. Coffee cups were also left uncleaned, and when I asked reception to have them taken care of, the housekeeping staff didn’t seem pleased about the request. These issues took away from the comfort you expect when you’re on holiday. On a positive note, the breakfast was excellent, with a good variety and quality that stood out compared to the rest of the experience.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming first impression. Our room was spacious, and the lobby offered plenty of comfortable space to relax, with a warm and cozy atmosphere throughout. The hotel’s location was also a strong point, situated just 10–15 minutes from the city centre and Old Town, making it convenient for exploring the area. Overall, we had a pleasant stay, and with a few improvements, this review could easily have been rated much higher. However, the main issue during our four-night stay was the standard of housekeeping, which unfortunately fell well below expectations. Upon arrival, we were informed that the bins would be emptied daily, yet they were only changed once during our stay. As we were travelling with a baby, this meant dirty nappies remained in the room for two days, which was particularly inconvenient. On one morning at 9am, we asked the housekeeper if she could return in an hour, as we would be leaving shortly. She responded with noticeable attitude and did not return to service the room at all that day. Small but important details also reflected a lack of care: the shampoo and hand wash bottles were mixed up and visibly dirty, one of the cups had coffee stains that appeared to be from previous guests, and one of the glasses still contained water. Cleanliness overall was disappointing. The floors were extremely dirty, with visible dust buildup, and maintenance issues were also evident. The side of the door was peeling away, and one of the bathroom tiles had not been fitted properly, causing water to collect underneath. A mini fridge in the room would also have been a welcome addition. While we still enjoyed our stay, the housekeeping and maintenance standards did not align with what we would expect from a 4-star hotel. With better attention to cleanliness and service, the experience could be significantly improved.
A very good hotel in a quiet neighbourhood, within easy and pleasant walking distance of the city centre. Service is polite and professional. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and well soundproofed, allowing for a restful stay. Breakfast is generous and varied; however, the range of olives and, in particular, the selection of bread may be worth noting for guests with dietary preferences or sensitivities. Overall, a comfortable and well-located hotel offering good value. We would be happy to stay here again
