The first of two excellent fine dining experiences we had in Prague. Our waitress was phenomenal--her recommendations (the mushroom soup and the gnocchi) were stellar, and we so enjoyed getting to meet executive chef Igor Chramec at the end of our meal. The view is beautiful, the setting is intimate, and the cocktails were lovely and balanced. A wonderful experience all around.

It is a bit confusing to give a rating as some of people working at that place were very professional, but then comes Milan.. I had a table reserved for 24.06 at 19:00 on the terrace. My flight was delayed, so I informed the team of the restaurant by email and Instagram message asking to hold the table until 20:00. I was assured that this would be fine. When I arrived, the table wasn’t ready—actually, there were no tables available at all. I was asked to wait at the bar downstairs and offered a complimentary drink, which I appreciated. The bar staff were lovely. I finally got seated at 20:50. Dinner was good, and as an apology I was offered another glass of champagne on the house, which nicely smoothed things over. My mood recovered. I even made a new reservation for 28.06 for dinner with colleagues, and a specific table was confirmed for me. When we arrived on 28.06, that table was occupied. The waiter (Milan) claimed his colleague “forgot” about the reservation and they don’t really reserve specific tables for guests. That was simply untrue—I saw the booking confirmed in my name with the table number and it was done in front of me by the waiter in the end of the first dinner. We asked to be seated at one of the two other available tables with a good view. We were refused and told, in essence, to either sit in a far corner with a limited view of the Old Town, or go downstairs to the indoor restaurant. It was a warm evening, so we chose the corner table. Not ideal, but fine. Dinner itself was again good, company great, mood improved. Then came the bill. Without asking, Milan added a 10% service charge in case we were planning not to tip, and only offered to remove it if we explicitly objected. We were too surprised to react. Afterwards, we were all asked to go downstairs to receive our change, where we also got a lecture from him about how next time we should pay by card because cash is inconvenient for him. And my colleagues actually asked him before the dinner if they may pay in euro and got a positive answer. You know, i really liked the food, the waiter during the first dinner , the girl in the bar and the way the situation was handled during the first evening and then… Milan comes. So… do you think we’ll be coming back?

Excellent experience on every level. The terrace offers a stunning view that alone makes it worth visiting. The dishes are precise and well composed: the duck liver ravioli with smoked eel is bold and memorable, the lamb tartare is clean and well balanced. The chicken and veal mains are solid, with quality ingredients and proper execution. The dessert is also strong and finishes the meal well. Service is outstanding: attentive, fast, and confident. Overall: high level, definitely worth returning.

What a great experience: calmed and relaxed after the busy-packed Prague Castle. The food was delicious, you should definitely try the Kulajda and the Grilled Scalops. We also tried the local (Czech) wine (Merlot) and it was the perfect match for our food. The main dishes ware great too, I loved the fish and the pumpkin puree that came with it. The cherry on the top was the AMAZING service that we had, our waitress spoke almost perfect Spanish and she was sweet, attentive, warm and very chatty. And last, but not least… the terrace!! What an amazing view. This was one of the best meals we’ve had in Europe overall. *chefs kiss*
