We ended up at this restaurant by chance after discovering that the place we originally planned to visit was fully booked with a long waiting line. And what a great surprise it turned out to be! We love goulash, so we ordered the goulash served in bread, and it was absolutely delicious. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we came back a second time just to have it again. As a starter, they serve a complimentary bread board with a delicious dip, which was a lovely touch. On top of that, the service was really fast and efficient, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly throughout both visits. We’d especially like to thank the blonde girl who served us on Sunday evening, Lida, who took care of us on Tuesday night, and the gentleman who brought us the bill that same evening. Their kindness and professionalism made our experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Mama Lucy is a must-visit when in Prague, especially if you want to experience traditional Czech cuisine. The food is hearty and authentic, with generous portions typical of Eastern Europe—definitely come hungry! The service is lovely and welcoming, adding to the overall cozy atmosphere. Despite being a large place, it still feels warm and comfortable, making it perfect for both small groups and bigger gatherings. The menu offers a great variety of classic dishes, all full of rich, comforting flavors. A great spot to enjoy local food in a relaxed setting—highly recommended for an authentic Czech dining experience.
The food was really delicious! Everything was fresh and full of flavour. The portion size was good, and the presentation looked very nice. I especially loved the Goulash in Bread it was amazing. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. I will definitely come back again. Highly recommend!
I stopped by Mam Lucy in Prague for a traditional lunch, and I’m so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the decor felt cozy and inviting, creating a warm and relaxed atmosphere. I was greeted promptly upon entering and seated at a lovely table with a pleasant view outside. To start, I ordered a glass of white wine along with traditional goulash served in a bread bowl. The complimentary bread and herbal butter were a wonderful touch — the butter spread was especially memorable, creating an explosion of flavors that truly elevated the start of the meal. The goulash itself was hearty and full of flavor. I particularly appreciated the generous amount of tender beef in the bread bowl, as that level of portion and quality is not something you find everywhere. It was rich, comforting, and satisfying — exactly what you hope for in a traditional Czech dish. The service was efficient, friendly, and attentive throughout. The overall vibe of the place felt peaceful and welcoming, making it an enjoyable spot to relax and enjoy a proper meal. I would definitely return the next time I’m in Prague. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy setting and authentic flavors.
This place was OK. Food was a little meh, just ok. Dumplings we a little dry and feel like they been sat out. Soup in bread was good. Not terrible, but didnt blow us away.
