I was so excited to try this place. The schnitzel istelf lives up to the hype but the light, Vienna style potato salad was a bit of a disappointment. The potatoes were undercooked and I would have preferred the “sauce” to be thicker so it coats the potatoes nicely. Rather than a potato salad, they were undercooked potatoes in broth.
Incredible Schnitzel, probably the closest to Vienna standard you can get outside Vienna! Infused with chive and lemon oil for amazing fragrance, the meat is thin, tender and juicy...cooked to perfection 😊 A must try for schnitzel fan when in Praha ♥️ Shout out to Tomas for amazing service and extremely friendly!
I've been here with Ondra, Ruda, and Dalibor, and also came a few times with my old team from Unicorn. The food is really good - it's a classic Czech pub atmosphere but they really nail both the food quality and the vibe. The location is perfect, directly next to Anděl metro, making it super convenient. Definitely became one of my go-to spots in the area. Restaurace Šnycl is run by chef Jan Punčochář, specializing in Austrian-Czech cuisine with schnitzels as the signature dish, located near Anděl metro in a two-story wooden interior space.
If you like schnitzel it's place for you. For a really good price you can eat a lot. Tasty food and beer.
I recently visited Šnycl, a charming Viennese-inspired schnitzel spot in Prague's Anděl district (Prague 5), for a delightful lunch date with my cuddle bunny. Our experience was nothing short of memorable. We started with the smoked pork tongue and a hearty beef broth, both were spot on. For mains, I went for the pork cutlet schnitzel, and my love opted for the veal version. Both came with their Wiener-style potato salad, which was creamy, tangy, and the ideal complement to the crispy, golden-breaded meat. The schnitzels were fantastic, perfectly fried in clarified butter, and generously portioned. No complaints here. Price-wise, it's a bit steeper than your average Prague restaurant, but quality like this comes at a cost, and it's absolutely worth it. The service was friendly and attentive, the vibe cozy yet upscale with wooden accents and a warm atmosphere, and even the beer was solid (which is not obvious). Overall, I can highly recommend Šnycl for anyone craving authentic schnitzel in a welcoming setting. Whether it's a romantic lunch or a casual outing, this place hits all the right notes. We'll definitely be back! Caution, booking mandatory.
