Had a great experience last night for dinner, food, service and atmosphere was great. I see a few reviews here complaining about tipping etc. This is a traditional restaurant with authentic, attentive and professional wait staff. There is a level of expectancy here and I think its warranted given atmosphere and the level service. Food is fantastic, well presented with genuine guidance and advice from the staff. While the prices are higher than surrounding beerhouses etc this is a different experience, on another level in every way and in the heart of Oldtown. For what it is, I would argue prices are very reasonable. Will be back again when in Prague for sure.
My wife and I recently spent 2 months in Prague. The Restaurant at the Blue Duckling (U Modré Kachničky II) was by far the best restaurant/meal that we experienced. It has a beautiful interior, excellent service, wonderful menu, ample wine list, and live piano music. It's slightly upscale but not pretentious. The owner and servers are attentive, professional, and saw to our needs. The food is simply amazing. I had the Flambéed wild boar tenderloin (flambeed at our table) and my wife had the Roasted Challans duck leg. Both were superb. The restaurant is just a few blocks outside of Old Town Square, is intimate, and likely not an optimum place to bring young/small children. For a really refined and excellent dining experience, I highly recommend trying U Modré Kachničky II. You won't be disappointed. Big thanks to Richard for making our dinner so special.
We had an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, everything felt special — the atmosphere, the attention to detail, and especially the service. Our waiter was simply phenomenal — attentive, warm, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He elevated the entire evening and made us feel truly welcome. As for the food… it was pure heaven! Every dish was rich, perfectly prepared, and full of flavor. Honestly, it was so good that we couldn’t stop thinking about it — we came back again the very next day for their delicious Foie Gras 😋 If you’re in Prague and want an exceptional dining experience, this place is an absolute must❤️
Really nice restaurant in Prague Old Town. Booking required as it’s very popular. The different variety of duck dishes were all amazing, and the atmosphere and staff were brilliant. A bit more pricey than other places in the area but it’s a special experience and worth it. Ingredients were fresh, cooked nicely and well presented. The waiter was very friendly and the whole place was a welcoming environment. Highly recommend
