Everythime we come to Prague and visit the city centre and the fortress, we make a stop.at this old restaurant built in a medieval building, with a cellar smelling of mold. The food is tasty and affordable. Highly recommended.
A medieval tavern you absolutely must visit in Prague. Just down from the castle, you'll find a lovely spot with medieval music playing and the entire bar decorated in a medieval style. The food is delicious and the service is very friendly! I highly recommend it. Děkuju 🍻
This place is an absolute gem! For starters, the first noticeable difference between this place and every other restaurant in town is the medieval theme that they really imitated perfectly, though it is an actual historical restaurant that, according to my research, opened in the early 1600s. The medieval theme is very charming and the roaring fire is sure to keep you warm on cold or rainy days. Themed music also played to help set the theme and the staff was dressed in a medieval tavern getup. The service was wonderful and they made us feel welcomed. The garlic soup, Svíčková, and pilsner beers were delicious, and the prices were more than fair. I’m glad we came here and experienced something unique. Just know that reservations are recommended, especially on weekends. We got lucky because it was lunch time and before the lunch rush came in.
What a wonderful find! I loved the atmosphere, candles, the cozy feel of a medieval tavern. My server’s name was Patrik and he was delightful — so helpful and friendly. The food was frankly the best traditional Czech cuisine I had while in Prague. I will be returning with friends and family. 10 out of 10. Amazing place, thank you!

We were truly impressed by the interior—it feels like stepping into an authentic medieval tavern, with beautiful and detailed decorations that create a special atmosphere. The service was fast, friendly, and very welcoming, which made the experience even better. The food was delicious, and the beer was excellent. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Prague, and we will definitely come back on our next trip!
