Had a lovely lunch at Sensa. The salmon was absolutely delicious perfectly cooked, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal. The atmosphere was elegant and the service was attentive The pork belly, however, was a bit hard and not as juicy as I expected. Overall, it was still a great experience, and I would happily come back to try more dishes
We came to the restaurant since it’s part of the hotel we stayed. The interior decoration is beautiful. We enjoyed papa a la huancaina (cheese sauce with potato), crispy rice (fried rice with salmon and avocado), gyoza and pistachio tiramisu. Ceviche and avocado cream (cold soup) are just okay; however, even though it’s not to our taste, we can tell it’s creative, delicate and well thought out. Overall, it’s on the pricier side, but the service and food quality are good.
A memorable Japanese-Peruvian fusion dinner - 5/5 We came as a couple for dinner at this Nikkei restaurant - the creative fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine - and left thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The kitchen clearly understands both traditions and knows how to bring them together in a way that feels natural rather than forced. The appetizers set the tone perfectly. The tuna tartare served in a taco shell was an absolute standout - the spice combination was inspired, delivering a layered complexity of flavors that felt like a true meeting point between the two cuisines. Genuinely one of the best bites of the evening. The chicken dumplings were equally well-executed: delicate, flavorful, and clearly made with care. For mains, I had the yaki udon with tofu - a Japanese classic done very well. The tofu slices were handled properly (often an afterthought elsewhere) and the whole dish was satisfying and full of umami. My wife ordered the salmon with Peruvian rice, which she absolutely loved. The rice had a rich, creamy texture reminiscent of risotto, with a beautiful depth of flavor that showcased the Peruvian side of the menu at its best. We paired the meal with a red wine and a cocktail, both solid choices for the evening. The interior is modern and inviting - open spaces, a gorgeous glass roof, and soft background music that lets you actually hold a conversation. The ambiance strikes the right balance between energy and intimacy. Service was a highlight: warm, professional, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. Our server could speak to the dishes with confidence, which made ordering a pleasure. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore Nikkei cuisine in a welcoming, well-designed setting. We had a really lovely dinner at SenSa. The food was excellent — we especially enjoyed the Gyoza, Popcorn Shrimp, and the Lomo de Res, all of which were beautifully prepared and full of flavour. The restaurant itself is elegant, in a beautiful quiet location, with a refined atmosphere that makes for a very enjoyable dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout the evening. The prices are definitely on the higher side, but this is also clearly an upscale restaurant, so that was in line with the overall experience and quality. One point that felt a little uncomfortable was the expectation around tipping. We were informed that a minimum of 12% gratuity was expected, which I personally find quite high, and when we chose to leave 8%, the reaction felt noticeably less positive. Still, this did not take away from the quality of the food itself. Overall, excellent food, beautiful ambiance, and friendly service — a great choice for a special dinner.
Really glad we found this spot. My girlfriend and I came here for dinner and loved it. We ordered the wagyu, tuna tacos, unagi nigiri, pork and shrimp gyoza, seafood soup, and miso soup, and every dish was solid. No misses. The standout for me was the seafood soup. The tomato base was rich without being heavy, and the shrimp, squid, clams, and octopus were all cooked right. Each bite had flavor and texture, which is not easy to pull off in a seafood soup. The unagi nigiri was rich and well balanced. Tuna tacos were fresh and clean. Gyoza had great flavor without being greasy. The wagyu was worth ordering. The restaurant itself is beautiful and intimate. It feels like a great date spot. Comfortable, warm, and easy to settle into without feeling cramped. Service was fine. Nothing bad, nothing memorable. The food and atmosphere did the heavy lifting. Overall, a great meal and a place I would go back to without hesitation.
