We stumbled upon this restaurant after a very unpleasant encounter at Restaurace U Pinkasů, which had been recommended for its authentic Czech food. The extreme rudeness from that manager was enough to convince us to leave and we ended up directly across the street at Restaurace "Otevreno", which was our good fortune! The waiter was charming and very attentive. The atmosphere was perfect, as the weather was comfortable enough to sit outside, and they had fleece blankets for warmth for us to use. We both ordered the Bryndza Halusky and it was phenomenal. We actually went back a second night! My husband ordered the goulash and, again, it was served beautifully. We decided to order a chocolate dessert, which took some time for the chef to prepare, but was worth every minute that it took to bake. Chocolate oozed out from inside at the first forkful. I can't recommend this place more highly. We were treated as if we were honored guests and the food was quite reasonably priced and delicious!.
The food when it came was only lukewarm warm. It just looked commercially prepared. The cream on top of the meat looked like it instant cream and was very sweet. Basically the food was bread and meat plus sauce. And as mentioned in an earlier post the waiter ask for a tip which we thought was undeserved.
A lovely restaurant with friendly service and delicious traditional Czech dishes. We had Svíčkova na Smetaně and goulash in bread. Both are highly recommended. The restrooms are very clean.
Best restaurant in Prague. If you want to eat traditional czech food or even anything, this is the spot. I ate in so many restaurants and this one is the best by far. Best food and lovely staff very welcoming. I had the beef goulash and homemade blackcurrant lemonade.
This place surprised me Didn’t expect much and the “walk down” was a little intimidating Snitzel was really good and mash as well Special call out for the trainee waitress she was great. The manager or head chef even came out afew times to speak to customers Would’ve been great to try other dishes but it’s hard with kids !
