What an experience! The food struck the perfect balance between innovation, creativity, and delicious flavors, with a wonderful variety of textures. The portions are small, but that wasn't a problem at all. In fact, they serve additional complimentary mini courses between the dishes, so we ended up enjoying more food than we had ordered. The service is top-notch. As I have celiac disease, they promptly and graciously adapted the menu to offer gluten-free options without making me feel guilty about it, as some other places do. Both waiters who served us were courteous, polite, friendly, and highly professional. Watching both the service staff and the kitchen team was a pleasure, they were incredibly attentive to every detail and constantly aware of everything happening around them. The young hostess who welcomed us also made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived until we left. I can't recommend this place enough.
The restaurant is located in what seems to be the ugliest building in Prague, across from what appears to be an abandoned parking lot. It’s actually easy to miss until you see a Michelin sign next to the door. Once inside things change. The first floor is a bakery. The second floor features the actual tables for dinner, kitchen, a meat freezer and a small greenhouse where the herbs are grown. There are metal trestles and pipes running overhead. The degustation menu can be three or five courses with a choice of Czech or world wine pairing or nonalcoholic pairing. The food was excellent: meticulously prepared and beautifully presented. The pace and service was perfect.
Such a cool food experience. Got the nonalcoholic pairing and it was well worth it. Every course was perfectly matched. The staff were helpful and explained everything. The flavors were fun, inventive and made sense. Well worth the price.
Štangl offers fantastic experience. Each plate is meticulously designed and prepared with care and emphasis on fresh ingredients. Never too complicated, you can enjoy the taste of all the components. Non alcoholic drinks in the pairing will surprise you even more than the wine. Finally the staff is attentive but also super friendly if that’s your preference and yes, they did something extra for us to enjoy our stay.
We absolutely loved our experience at this restaurant. From the moment you walk in, it feels very special because you can watch the chefs carefully prepare each dish. I chose the three-course menu and my husband selected the five-course menu, both with wine pairing. Every course was beautifully presented and full of flavor. In addition to the tasting menus, they also served several complimentary bites from the house, which was a lovely touch. The portion sizes were perfect for us, and the staff even offered complimentary drinks while we waited. If you are visiting Prague, this restaurant is absolutely worth experiencing.
