Restaurace Mincovna is located in the heart of the old town, and it is pretty much easy to find, you can't miss it. We were there for lunch and had no reservation, but they welcomed walk-ins. The staff are friendly, and they provide good information about their menu. It's all about traditional and local Czech dishes, and this is one of the best places to try them out. If you tell your preferences in advance, they can do their best to serve the food according to your taste. They have an open kitchen, and drinks are also good. The place is quite spacious, and there is enough space between tables. A nicely decorated restaurant indeed. The menu can be a bit pricey, but I appreciated it when the waiter brought the bill; he showed us what we ordered without asking, and we paid for what we ate. When you are in the old town, this restaurant is a good treat to your stomach.
Good recommendations are passed down from friend to friend. That is how we found out about this place. I am broadening this knowledge by putting a great review on Google. Go here for dinner. You will enjoy traditional Czech cooking, in a beautiful space with friendly and efficient service.
Booked Restaurace Mincovna for new years Eve! It was a great and convenient location to spend that evening. Restaurace Mincovna had a set menu for the night which concluded with a salmon, beef and vegetable tartare as a starter, a steak with foie gras & gravy as a main and a chocolate raspberry moose for an appetizer. The food was good however the tartare were lacking flavor. The service was exceptional and the vibe was good. I recommend checking them out.
As one of the places recommended by locals “Janek & Honza” (Honest Guide), we came here rather than one closer to our hotel and we can’t imagine a better choice. Easy to book online, it was a short walk to Old Town Square. Upon entering, the hosts were friendly and respectful, and our server was warm, sincere, and helpful, as well as fully attentive throughout our visit. All dishes, starters, mains, and dessert were truly excellent, authentic yet sophisticated, carefully prepared, interesting and delicious, with portions just right. Everyone (especially our very warm and kind server) was focused on making sure we felt like guests in their “home,” all displaying generous and sincere Czech hospitality. Highly recommended.
We came here for an anniversary dinner and honestly it DID NOT disappoint. The food, absolutely incredible, the service, phenomenal and comedic (Martin was great at his job but also providing apt entertainment). We had cheese and sausage to start and then the pork tenderloin (my taste buds had a very wonderful party, tastes were exploding and the tenderness of the meat?! Sublime). My partner had the goulash and again just perfect. We had such a good time we HAD to have it again before we left Prague to go back to the UK. We were literally craving it over the 4 days we were in country. We weren’t able to book online so we called up and they had a space for us (hallelujah!!) and ironically we also had Martin serve us again. We had beer, lemonade and the pork tenderloin and OMG just as good as the first time. We’re so happy to have came across this restaurant which saw our 2 years together and saw in number 3. The only disappointment is that we can’t have this again in the near future. I personally think the restaurant should expand to the UK. Truly superb!!
